It's quite an attractive route, consisting of heading west to see the Tsingy and Baobab trees, descending south via Tuléar and Cap Sainte-Marie to Fort Dauphin, then heading up the East Coast via the 10-boat track to catch the train to Manakara, from where you can reach Fianarantsoa and Antananarivo via the Nationale 7.
